Who Am I?Hey there. I'm Mark Parsons. I'll be honest with you: I'm a pretty shy guy by nature. I'm not loud, I'm not flashy, and I'd rather spend my time under the hood of a motherboard than talking at a party. I turned 50 back in 2025, and if anything, I've just gotten quieter and better at fixing things. I'm a computer technician right here in Brantford. I repair desktops, laptops, and servers. If your machine is acting up, or you just need help getting your network configured, I'm here to help. No hype, just straight tech support. BBS, Linux & The Old DaysI cut my teeth on 1200 baud modems and local BBS networks. I remember compiling Linux kernel 2.2 from source on a 486DX2 just to get a proper SLIP connection running. I still use vim, prefer the terminal over bloated GUIs, and occasionally log into legacy Usenet groups. I'm not a "tech bro" chasing the latest shiny SaaS tool. I'm a veteran who believes in open source, command-line efficiency, and keeping your data on your own drives. Canadian Sports Fan CornerYeah, I'm a die-hard hockey fan. When I'm not diagnosing a kernel panic, you can find me watching the Leafs, Oilers, or the Brantford Smoke. I still have my vintage 1998 sports magazine collection and a well-worn sweater. Remember checking scores on TheSportsNetwork or Compuserve? Good times. I keep it simple, just like I keep my system configs. GO LEAFS GO! Get In TouchI don't do social media much, but you can reach me via email. I check it regularly. [ CLICK HERE ] - Why does this website exist? (Read about the daily AI regeneration project) |
