Who Is This Guy?

Hi. I'm Mark. I'm a computer technician based in Brantford, Ontario, and I fix computers for a living. That sentence sounds less exciting than it actually is, so let me elaborate: I spend most of my days listening to people describe their computer problems in the way people describe medical symptoms — with increasing volume and a growing sense that it's happening right now.

I'm genuinely good at this. Not in a "I went to school for it and now I talk down to you" way, but in a "I've been doing this so long that I can hear a hard drive failing from across the room" way. I've repaired everything from a toaster that someone connected to a USB port — yes, really — to enterprise servers that cried when I told them I had to reboot them.

I also maintain the unshakable belief that the NES produced better games than the SNES. The SNES has 16-bit graphics. The NES has soul. Don't @ me. I have charts. They're on a floppy disk somewhere.

I built this website to show off some skills and maybe confuse my mother a little bit. She thinks I work at the bank now. She doesn't know about the website. She doesn't know about any of this.
