When I am not working at the bench, you will find me in the kitchen perfecting my homemade pizza. I believe that good food and good hardware both require patience, the right ingredients, and careful attention to detail.

Hardware & Software Philosophy

My workbench is guided by open-source stability, transparency, and a commitment to user control. The systems I recommend and support are chosen for longevity and honesty.

  • LINUX Gentoo and Ubuntu form the foundation of most builds. Compiling from source teaches you how machines truly work, while Ubuntu provides reliable daily driving for clients.
  • HISTORY I have seen the light of OS/2. That era taught me that operating systems should respect the user, not the other way around.
  • WINDOWS I maintain a healthy, professional distrust of Windows. Its licensing models, telemetry, and forced update cycles clash with the privacy and control my clients deserve.
  • COMMUNICATION I still frequent the old IRC channels on EFNet. The direct, community-focused spirit of those days is what I value. No algorithms, just people helping people.
